⚔️ Aethro: Reforged — The Map Is About to Get Messy

Azeroth has enjoyed entirely too much stability lately.

So naturally, we’re fixing that.

🗺️ The Allegiance Territory War Begins

The first pieces of our new Allegiance Territory system are now in place!

Across Azeroth, territories can now fall under Alliance or Horde control, with regions beginning Contested until one side manages to tip the scales.

As you travel, you’ll be able to see who currently controls the territory you’ve entered. We’re also building a live Territory Map on Play Aethro, so you can keep an eye on which side is painting more of Azeroth in its colors.

And this is only the foundation.

The territory system is being built to grow into something much bigger. Questing, killing enemies, PvP, territory defenses, regional bonuses, fortifications, invasions, and server-wide battles can all become part of the fight for control.

We also want Staff Events to take advantage of it. Imagine your Allegiance controlling a region only to hear that an enemy force is marching toward it.

Defend it.

Or don’t.

We’re sure the other side will appreciate the free real estate. 😏

Your Allegiance is about to mean a whole lot more than which guards yell at you.

🤖 Playerbots Have Learned How to Leave a Party

A miracle has occurred.

Playerbots should no longer log out while secretly clinging to their old party like an adventurer who doesn’t understand that the dungeon run ended three hours ago.

When a Playerbot logs out, its normal party membership will now be cleaned up properly. When you summon them again, you should no longer be greeted by the dreaded:

“Already in a group.”

Battleground, Battlefield, and LFG behavior remains unchanged.

⚔️ Pick a Side. Then Help Paint the Map.

The Territory War is only getting started.

Soon, what you do out in the world won’t just affect your character. It could help decide who controls Azeroth.

For the Alliance? For the Horde?

Either way…

Someone’s losing property.
