Shadows of Aethro Update — July 22, 2026

A fresh Shadows of Aethro update is now live, bringing safer world resets, stronger dungeon mobs, plenty of mod updates, and an alarming amount of pigeon-related infrastructure.

The Resource World received a major update!

It should now properly cooperate with its scheduled 30-day resets without attempting to murder, trap, erase, or otherwise inconvenience everyone caught nearby.

That was apparently a feature it needed to be specifically told not to do.

Envelope received a massive update appropriately titled Integration Hell, adding new structures, pigeons, mailbox features, recipes, advancements, integrations, and several new ways to become emotionally invested in fictional postal infrastructure.

Some of the biggest additions include:

• A new Collapsed Mail Hub structure that generates high in the sky
• Plains, Taiga, Savanna, and Desert Dovecotes
• Charred Pigeons that spawn in the Nether
• A special Archimedes pigeon variant
• Pigeonhole variants for every wood type
• Letters that can be placed on walls
• Letters that can be burned in fires and campfires
• Paper Boxes that can absorb falls before dramatically exploding into cardboard
• Nitwit villagers that throw seeds to nearby pigeons
• Pigeons that eat dropped seeds and follow Nitwits
• A 1% chance to receive a Diamond while cleaning a Pigeonhole
• Hanging Mailbox variants
• New mail-service recipes
• Paper Boxes and Letters appearing in Mineshaft and Pillager Outpost loot
• Create packages that can now be delivered through the mail system
• Cardboard support for crafting Paper Boxes

Envelope also added a whole collection of new advancements, including:

• Overworld Wide Web
• What Is My Purpose?
• It’s Filthy in There
• Soft Landing
• System Failure

Pigeons have also become considerably smarter. They can perch on leaves and wooden blocks, return to their assigned Pigeonholes, establish new homes, avoid wandering too far away, and eventually forget their home if they have not rested there for three in-game days.

Most importantly, any pigeon named Drumstick will now become slightly chonkier.

This is the kind of technological progress we support.

Dungeons and Villages: Deeper and Darker has been updated, and its mobs have become stronger.

Enter confidently. Leave horizontally.

Field Guide fixed an issue involving a mod we do not use, which is always comforting. Lens items can also now scan while being worn in an armor slot.

MCA Reborn received a huge update with many bug fixes, brighter colors, improved fishing tasks, and plenty more.

Waystones fixed a crash that could occur when deleting things.

Xaero’s World Map and Minimap received additional bug fixes.
